Flight Audiobook

You can now listen to various sections of Flight! The Flight Audiobook project began with the question: What is the voice of the Flight framework? In the spirit of collaboration, the audiobook represents Flight’s commitment to meaningful community engagement. This audiobook embodies the contributions from readers who actively use the framework in their work with children and families. We hope you, the listeners, appreciate the diverse voices of Alberta educators and leaders who bring this Flight resource to life.

The development of the Flight Audiobook was funded by the Government of Alberta Education and Child Care.

Audiobook Sections

This audiobook is designed for Alberta educators and allied professionals interested in the core concepts, holistic play-based goals, and dispositions to learn as articulated in Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework. Unlike traditional books, Flight is not meant to be read from front to back. Instead, learners, practicing educators and teachers, leaders, and professionals often choose specific sections of the framework to explore their practice questions or to gain insight into children’s play and interactions by listening to or reading the goals and dispositions to learn.

Similarly, you can choose to experience the audiobook purely through listening or open the accompanying print or digital document to follow along. Throughout the audiobook, you will hear various educators who chose sections that held meaning for them, and many shared their thoughts before the readings. Occasionally, readers tailored their passages while preserving the original meaning of the words and ideas.
